Bodegas Estefania Tilenus is in one of the most exciting regions in Spain. A new winery really going places, Food and Wine magazine included Tilenus as one of their 20 best new wineries. The winery specialises in the local Mencia grape which is only grown in the Bierzo area, in the cool North West of Spain. The vineyards are ancient (between 70 to 100 years old) and are grown on very steep, slate soil hillsides at an altitude of 700 metres. The wines are full bodied but have a beautiful perfume and soft tannins. They have a cool climate elegance and complexity.
