Chateau des Karantes Rouge 2008, LanguedocThis is the main wine of the estate and it has won many awards. A blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache & 10% Mourvedre which is aged in large oak barrels for 12 months. A deep concentrated red with fresh flavours of plums, cherry, black fruits with vanilla spices.
It won the Coup de Coeur & 2 stars in French Guide Hachette de Vins 2011 and 'absolutely remarkable, the 2008 seduces with its crimson colour, then by the intensity of its bouquet and by its strenght in the mouth. Subtle and complex. The lenght of the finish makes it a wine worth keeping even if today we can appreciate its high quality.'
It was also one of only 12 French reds to win a Gold Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2010. A further Gold Medal at the Concours des Grands Vins de Macon, Silver Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Commended Medal at the International Wine Challenge 2010.
